Friday Home Fun- Chore Chart

Today's Home fun project is one that children and parents can do together to prepare for Spring Cleaning ! I made this fun chart with my daughter, Melanie, and she had a wonderful time helping me complete the tasks around the house. You can make the chores appropriate for the age of your child.

The idea is not only to get them to participate with you, but to also promote independence by having the complete chores with little guidance.
Here's how it works!

Items You'll Need:
Poster Board
String
Clothes Pin
Tape
Markers
Envelopes
Index Cards
Prizes/ Money

Write the names of the chores that are age appropriate for your child on the outside of an envelope and on the top of an Index card. Also on the index cards, write brief instructions of how to complete each task or draw pictures for your little one to follow. Next place the cards in the envelopes along with a small prizes or money for completing the chores. Now using the clothes pins, attach the envelopes to string that you hang across the poster board.  I also created one extra envelope that said "Completed Chores Prize" and wrote an extra reward on the index card. She was able to see what the final prize was after she finished all of the chores on the board.
What are some other ways you've gotten your children to participate in chores at home?
