Trying to Find the Words
Tears
streamed down my face as I tried to make sense of what I was hearing on the
news. I quickly turned the TV off when my daughter walked into the room. I
wanted to shield her from the news and heartbreak coming from Sandy Hook Elementary
School. I knew she wouldn't understand and the news would only make it more
terrifying in her eyes. I also wasn't ready to answer her questions. I couldn't even make sense of it myself.

Teaching Generosity this Holiday Season
Between the Black Thursday, Friday, Saturday shopping rush
and the ripping open of presents on Christmas day, it can be easy for Children
to see that the holiday season is all about presents. How do we teach our children
that Hanukkah, Christmas and other holiday celebrations are also a time to show
generosity?
However your family celebrates the season, there are many
ways to celebrate generosity.

Welcome to Mommy E's Family Blog!
Our children have many teachers throughout their lives. Some
that teach manners and others that teach math. From parents and grandparents to
siblings, friends and teachers; later our children become these very teachers
that once taught them all of the important things in life that lead to the people
they become as adults. I am fortunate to have been the teacher in many
children’s lives as reading tutor, preschool teacher, friend, Auntie and most
recently, mother.
