Those pesky little leprechauns come out on St. Patrick's Day looking for gold and causing all kinds of trouble! Make a leprechaun trap to catch one of those tricky little men! Gather several materials from around the house to create a trap that you think might be able to trick and trap a leprechaun! Some great traps that I've seen use shoe boxes or empty cereal boxes. I've also seen coffee cans and milk cartons work too! Hints: Leprechauns like the color green and the LOVE gold! You might want to use these things to lure them into your trap!

Lucky Green Necklace
Don't forget to wear your green on St. Patrick's Day so you don't get pinched! Here is a fun way to add green to your outfit to avoid those pinches!
Need:
Pasta (any size shape that can be strung onto string)
Rubbing alcohol
String
Green Food Coloring
Bowl
Paper Towels
Cookie Sheet
Pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol into the bottom of a bowl. Add green food coloring to desired color. Add dried pasta to the mix and make sure that all sides of the pasta are coated. Let it soak in the mixture for 30 minutes. Next lay the pasta out onto paper towels spread out on cookie sheets. Be careful to move the pasta around as it dries to ensure all sides get dried and the pasta doesn't stick to the paper towel. Once the pasta is dried, string onto a piece of string measured to fit the size of necklace you'd like. Add any embellishments you'd like (rainbow colored beads or foam or felt shamrocks).
Shamrock Smoothies
Green smoothies are so good for you and super tasty! What better way to get your kids to try a green smoothie than on St. Patrick's Day!
Need:
1 C. Berries - your choice
2 C. Fresh Spinach
1 C. Yogurt- your choice
1 Banana
Orange Juice
Place berries, spinach, yogurt and banana in a blender. Blend and and orange juice until smoothie is your preferred consistency. Pour into a glass and enjoy with a green straw! Kids will love this festive snack and they wont even know how good it is for them. To add a bit of protein try using tofu! This also makes the smoothie a wonderful velvety consistency!
I Love the Leprechaun traps!! fun, and the macaroni necklaces are an easy and fun project too. The smoothies are healthy and very green, maybe we will have green shakes, with icecream ;) Great blog yet again Erin :D
